Trey Songz Enlists Lil Wayne, J. Cole, & Kelly Rowland for ‘Chapter 5’

Trey Songz and mother
With Mother’s Day right around the corner, Trey Songz and his mom April Tucker called into Power 99’s Morning Show on Friday. The radio hosts grilled Mama Songz on her famous son’s nicknames and got her thoughts on Kelly Rowland, who appeared in Trey’s “Heart Attack” video.

“He’s a mama’s boy, but he’s his own man at the same time,” said April. “I think that’s the best combination. He has great reverence and respect for me, but he still comes home and lays his head across my lap when it’s time to watch TV.”

She also revealed one of Trey’s more embarrassing nicknames. “I call him my Maxi Me ’cause he looks a lot like me.”

His on-screen co-star Kelly Rowland gets mom’s seal of approval. “I think they look very cute,” said April. “I was on set and she’s very sweet and they have amazing chemistry in front of the camera, but they’re good friends. I like her though, she’s a sweetheart.”

Trey’s new album Chapter 5 is due out mid-summer featuring some big names. “I got a record with Tip on there ['2 Reasons'],” said Trigga. “Shout out to [Lil] Wayne, Big Sean, J. Cole, Kelly Rowland as well. A lot of great features thus far and I’m still recording.”

2 Chainz Responds to Kanye West G.O.O.D. Music Rumors

Kanye West and 2 Chainz
Kanye West reignited rumors that he may be signing 2 Chainz to G.O.O.D. Music when he tweeted, “2 Chainz is charging 100k for a verse now cause he’s G.O.O.D!!!!!!” But the former Playaz Circle member still won’t confirm or deny his affiliation with the hip-hop label.

Shortly after Kanye sent out the tweet, 2 Chainz appeared on Bootleg Kev’s radio show to address the chatter.
“He just saying like I’m good, like I’m ill,” said 2 Chainz, whose Drake-assisted single “No Lie” is in the top 10 on iTunes.

His popularity has made him reevaluate his collaborations. “I think I was jeopardizing my brand sometimes by doing the homeboy special,” he explained. “I just felt like we should put that out there that we ain’t doing no more of that.”

Prior to signing with Def Jam, he may have done otherwise. “I would of done almost anything a couple months ago. I still will, I’m still grounded, but it just makes sense for me to slow down a little bit being that I got an album [Based on a T.R.U. Story] coming out August the 14th.”

But he remained coy when asked for a straight answer regarding G.O.O.D. Music. “I’m still into the element of surprise so you just gotta [stay tuned].”

LIL WAYNE..."Dear Anne"

Lil Wayne pens a letter to his No. 1 fan Anne on “Dear Anne,” his answer to Eminem’s classic “Stan.” The introspective piano-driven track was produced by Swizz Beatz and samples Russian pop duo t.A.T.u.’s “30 Minutes.”

“I hope I see you in the stands, Anne/ Because you know I understand, Anne/ And I’m sorry about Stan, so I wrote this to say that I’m your No. 1 fan,” raps an appreciative Weezy.

Swizz originally submitted the song for Eminem’s Relapse album and then offered it to Wayne in exchange for a verse on his Haute Living single “Rock ‘N’ Roll.” But it won’t appear on Tha Carter IV and instead finds a home on the Internet for your listening pleasure.
