LINDSEY PAVAO MAKES THE JUDGES "SAY AAH" ON "THE VOICE"

Lindsey Pavao had probably the most unique audition on ‘The Voice‘ so far, which makes sense when you consider what her original aspirations were as a child. “When I was kid, I wanted to be an inventor,” she told the crowd. Instead, Pavao reinvented Trey Songz‘s ‘Say Aah.’Pavao’s performance was teased in a promotional video for the series, which showed her being fought over by three judges thanks to her unusual approach to the track. Pavao showed her Radiohead, Nirvana and Incubus influences, but everyone agreed with judge Blake Shelton when he said she evoked Fiona Apple.

Christina Aguilera picked her first, smugly slapping down a heavily bejeweled hand. She was immediately followed by an equally enthusiastic Cee Lo Green, who exclaimed, ”I like it!” Shelton was the last judge to choose Pavao, but not the least passionate.

“I love your voice, and your hair is bada–,” Shelton gushed. She had the same hair as Xtina! Shelton then tried flattery (which is usually Cee Lo’s forte), telling Pavao that she’s beautiful.

Xtina is a fighter, though, and she wouldn’t let Pavao out of her grip without a battle. “You have such a unique quality to your voice, and I don’t want to touch that,” Aguilera said, adding, “I just want to play with you.” She backed into a wisecrack from Shelton, who smirked,”That’s weird!”
“I would like to help nurture that,” Cee Lo said of Pavao’s talent, “and all jokes aside, I’m a really great coach.”

Visibly humbled and in shock at the decision she had to make, Pavao thought it over for a bit before choosing … Xtina!
Aguilera was absolutely thrilled. “You’re awesome, you have a beautiful voice, a beautiful face — you inspire me,” Aguilera told her. “If you grab my attention just by being you, I’m not gonna mess with that.”

DEZ DURON FAILS TO MAKE IT THROUGH ON "THE VOICE" WITH BACKSTREET BOYS COVER

Dez Duron gave up a lot to audition for ‘The Voice,’ so it was pretty heartbreaking when the absolutely adorable college student didn’t prompt any of the judges to whip their chairs around with his performance.

Before he moved out to California to pursue a career in singing, Duron was attending Yale and playing football for the Ivy League institution. He took a semester off to appear on ‘The Voice,’ but his cover of the Backstreet Boys‘ ‘I Want It That Way’ just didn’t cut it.

The Louisiana native was hoping to make his dad proud, since Duron’s father is the inspiration behind his singing and football career (dad won a Grammy for writing the song ‘We’ve Come to Worship’). He said, “[My father's] been a hero of mine since I was really young. Today is huge, so obviously I’m feeling some nerves.” When he took the stage, Duron showed off his very distinct and interesting voice, which sounded a bit nasally at times.

At one point, Blake Shelton turned to Adam Levine and said, “That’s right up your alley!” Cee Lo Green also encouraged Levine to turn around, saying, “Take a chance, Adam!” However, the very particular Levine never turned around.

Christina Aguilera was kicking herself for missing out on coaching the handsome crooner, while Levine’s fellow judges were taking jabs at him for not picking Duron. When Levine told Duron, “I think for me, it was maybe stylistically we wouldn’t jam so well together,” he was met with some disagreement from his fellow judges.

We honestly feel kind of bad for Duron, since it seems like one of the other judges would’ve maybe turned around if they had known Levine wasn’t going to turn around. Keep your chin up, Dez!

AIR FORCES ROCKER ANGIE JOHNSON IMPRESSES CEE LO GREEN WITH "THE VOICE" AUDITION

While a few contestants on ‘The Voice‘ have had record contracts, released singles and cut albums, few are more famous that Angie Johnson. The Air Force Staff Sgt. had a video on YouTube that attracted over one million hits within days of being posted.

Host Carson Daly was one of those people watching, and he personally tracked her down. “I saw a woman in a military outfit singing an incredible Adele song,” he said, before making Johnson blush by calling her cute. Fans expecting a re-creation of the pop song got a surprise however, when Johnson broke into a near-perfect version of Pat Benetar’s ‘Heartbreaker,’ after admitting to being more nervous than she was during her seven tours to the Middle East.

Cee Lo Green turned around early and got to watch the military babe toss her hair around like she’s been working the stage for years. “I love a woman with guts, with power, with confidence,” he said, after pulling out a pair of gag glasses to make sure she was good looking. “Come on down!”
“The last note I was like, ‘Oh my God I let Cee Lo get away with one,’” Blake Shelton admitted. But with no one else turning around, she joined Team Green.

GWEN SEBASTIAN WILL "STAY" ON TEAM BLAKE ON "THE VOICE"

Gwen Sebastian of North Dakota’s initial appearance on ‘The Voice‘ was misleading. With her short and spikey two-tone hair, she looks like she’d be belting Pat Benatar in a dimly lit dive bar. The image is further driven home by her black-clad drummer boyfriend, whom she affectionately calls “Lala,” and with whom she put off a wedding and children to pursue music.

That image is shattered as soon as you hear her sing.
As soon as Sebastian opened her mouth to the opening notes of Sugarland‘s ‘Stay,’ you knew where her heart was: country. So did Blake Shelton, who hit button first, closely followed by Cee Lo Green, who blew her kisses (such a flirt!).
Adam Levine hit his button in her final notes, while Christina Aguilera remained the only judge not moved to make her a teammate. Sebastian was moved to tears onstage.

Shelton spoke first. “You’re a great country vocalist,” he gushed, “Every quality: you’re tender in the right places and you’re powerful in the right places. You know what you’re doing,” Shelton said. “You’re very developed,” he said before throwing in a dig at a certain ‘F— You’ singer. “Cee Lo has another meaning of developed when he talks to you. I’m your country guy,” Shelton assured her.  ”I’m your man.”

Levine tried as hard as he could to sway Sebastian to his side. “He is a country singer,” Levine admitted, referring to Shelton. “It makes total sense to go with Blake.” However, Levine let Sebastian know that he’d love to work with someone so different from him to get a fresh perspective. Tempting, no?

Then came Cee Lo’s turn to appeal to Sebastian. “From the very beginning your voice projected so well,” Cee Lo said simply. “I just wanted to turn around and let you know that you are appreciated.” Aww!

Aguilera even admitted that she knew Sebastian was talented, but didn’t want to fight off the other three judges. “I’m glad I wasn’t in this one!”

There was no need, because Sebastian’s mind was made up long ago. “My heart is country,” she said, somewhat apologetically, to Levine. She turned to Shelton and confirmed what we all knew already. “Blake, I would be honored to be on your team.”

The sentiment was a mutual one. After Sebastian skipped offstage, Shelton guffawed in everyone’s faces. Cold, Shelton!

PAMELA ROSE'S HOPES FOR GLORY ON "THE VOICE" ARE "ALREADY GONE"

Tonight on ‘The Voice,’ it seemed every contestant with a sob story was getting cut from the competition. When Pamela Rose, a beautiful 20-something songstress, walked onto the NBC set, she teared up while talking about how overjoyed she was to have her mother with her. Rose didn’t get to see much of her mother when she was younger, since she was constantly working to support her and her sister. She said, “[My mother] gave her life for my sister and I. It makes this experience that much more amazing.”

It’s too bad for Rose that this wasn’t a beauty competition, because the stunning songstress failed to impress with her vocal performance. As she performed a pitchy rendition of Kelly Clarkson‘s ‘Already Gone,’ Rose didn’t really astound ‘The Voice’ judges (or us) with her less-than-stellar voice. It’s not that she was bad, but she definitely didn’t stand out in comparison to the other talent the judges have recruited for their teams.

When she finished singing, the four judges turned around, and you could immediately tell that the guys were having “Oh crap” moments at the sight of Ms. Rose. Adam Levine confirmed our suspicions when he said, “Cee Lo‘s killing himself right now.” Green agreed, saying, “I’m very disappointed.” Levine and Christina Aguilera then elaborated on why they didn’t turn around, saying she had pitch issues. Rose took the critiques like a true professional though, and managed to stay positive despite fighting back some tears backstage.

"THE VOICE" JUDGES TELL KIM YARBROUGH SOMETHING GOOD

“This will be the first time I’m able to live, sleep and eat my career,” she said. Kim Yarbrough has had a lot of jobs, including a stint at a potato chip factory and as a security detail for Dave Matthews Band — but no career that she loved. That is, until she auditioned for ‘The Voice.’

At 50, Yarbrough felt this may be her last chance to go for her goal. ”When you tell people you think they’re too old, you’re depriving them of something,” she said. “There’s always room to grow and learn.”

With her performance of ‘Tell Me Something Good,’ Yarbrough showed she can probably teach. With her voluptuous frame, voluminous curls and guttural voice, Yarbrough is, in sound and sight, a dead ringer for Chaka Khan.

Christina Aguilera teased her hand around the button, then pulled it back. Cee Lo Green danced in his seat. Adam Levine hit his button in the first chorus, then danced at his seat, followed immediately by Aguilera. Blake Shelton and Cee Lo stayed put.

As soon as Yarbrough stopped singing, Levine asked her name. When she replied, “Kim,” he corrected her: “Your name is Chaka Khan, baby! That’s what I wanted to see!” He recognized that he faced some steep competition from Aguilera. “This divalicious young lady over here wants you too,” he said, “so we’re going to fight over you like children.”

He was almost right, but Xtina kept it cordial. “As soon as I heard that song,” Aguilera said, “I knew you were a force to be reckoned with.”

When Yarbough was deciding, Shelton offered to help. “Adam won this thing last year,” Shelton told her. “Christina didn’t.” Tell us how you really feel, Blake! Whether it was his influence or her gut instinct, Yarbough made her decision somewhat predictably. ”I love all of you, thank you so much,” Yarbrough said, “but I think I’m gonna go with Adam.”

RIHANNA HITS HOLLYWOOD CLUB CIRCUIT....

In what’s becoming commonplace these days, Rihanna has been snapped arriving at yet another nightclub.

The hazy-eyed model, who seems to be channelling chart rival Beyonce these days, donned an a barely-there ensemble as she made a bee-line for the Greystone Manor hotspot last night.

We thought it was just her vocals, yet it seems everything from her appearance to behaviour is growing more erratic by the day.

Being the caring site we are, we’ve been angling for the Bajan to “get some rest” for a hot minute. Yet judging by her latest antics (hair, tattoos, incessant partying), perhaps the stage is the best place for her. Even if our ears and eyes feel otherwise.

JAZMINE SULLIVAN CONFIRMS "NEW ALBUM" IN THE WORKS

Even though the talentless still reign supreme, the successes of vocal divas as of late is reassurance that there is hope yet.  For, without question, what the industry has ‘needed badly’ would be the prowess of a vocalist comparable to that of ‘Need U Bad’ beauty Jazmine Sullivan.

Last year may have seen the 24-year-old announce an ill-received departure from music, but now fans can rejoice at this weekend’s Twitter announcement:

jazsull 300x92 Jazmine Sullivan Confirms New Album In the Works
*insert excitement here!*
While not completely mute on the musical tip as recent months have seen her lend the pen to Monica‘s ‘Until Its Gone’ and other R&B numbers, we at TGJ still are ready for Sullivan to make her own splash on charts.  Overlooked gems from the singer’s sophomore album ‘Love Me Back’ are still on CONSTANT repeat at TGJ headquarters!

NEW MUSIC: MONICA AND BRANDY-"IT ALL BELONGS TO ME"

It’s here!
Monica and Brandy‘s hotly anticipated duet ‘It All Belongs To Me’ premiered on V103 moments ago.

Get all the way into the Rico Love produced cut after the jump…
‘The Boy Is Mine’ this is not.
However, the Pop flavoured mid-tempo is solid on its own stiletto’s. Melodically rich and hook-heavy, the track packs all the right ingredients for a radio hit. A characteristic which, thankfully, doesn’t implicate the vocal performances of the ladies; who – now vocally older and wiser – turn in impressive showings. We like. Do you?

CHECK: TEAIRRA MARI DISHES ON NEW ALBUM,MOVIES AND DATING SNOOP DOGG

This summer, ‘No Daddy‘ belle Teairra Mari releases her long awaited new album, her first under Rico Love‘s ‘Division One‘ label.
So in support of the release, the star took to ‘NE Video‘ to discuss its sound, her role on VH1′s ‘Love & Hip Hop‘, her unfortunate departure from Def Jam and her love for Big Sean.
Watch the interview below…

With Rico Love behind her, we’re sure the album will live up to the hype that it is slowly garnering.

Our only hope is that her material is backed by a well thought out promo campaign, which sees her reintroduced to mainstream audiences and endorse every cut on the record, not just a select few.

Because with talent and star quality as undeniable as hers, there is no reason she can’t be the Ashanti of this generation, an urban act with solid Pop appeal.

"ZIBA AMAASO VIDEO BY JEMIMAH SANYU"

What would you want of a good song that is not in this piece? The sound track is typically Zouk and so amazing. The voices of the artist are the best thing you would ever want to listen to from a Zouk or RnB musician. When it comes to the video, Jemimah the main actor and singer is so happy to the fullest, indicating that in all corners, she can’t be shaken because she has got the love.

Ziba Amaaso single was first officially performed at the Diva Music awards grand final event 2011 at theatre La Bonita and with no doubt, the positive reception for the song from the audience highlighted potential of this single hitting so well in the local music market, as long as nothing goes wrong with its promotion. Ziba Amaaso is translated as ‘Close Your Eyes’.

Jemimah Sanyu is a multi talented vocalist and vocal trainer who has for some time now been working underground helping many talents grow, vocally and musically. She majorly worked with Grayce Records based in Kanyanya, Kampala. In 2011, Jemimah got a deal to work with Rwanda’s Bantu band and this did not only give her chance to adventure but also helped in Jemimah growing her talent much more.

Ziba Amaaso is one among a number of good songs that Jemimah Sanyu has so far released; this particular one being Jemimah’s most popular song among different music fans online.  Before Jemimah released Ziba Amaaso single and Amaaso Gogeera featuring Navio, she had other singles such as I am Ugandan, Kankusute and Kankuyimbire Akayimba and more.

Ziba Amaaso video is out, looking good and nice for the eyes. The video features Jemimah Sanyu, some few notable City Rock Entertainment boys plus other crazy men and girls. The video was shot from a classy home; it comes with good shots and views of this home. Good lighting and color has of late become a good habit of Ark Menz films’ company producers and this what you will find in Ziba Amaaso video. The audio was produced by Legend P from Fenon records.
